Every knife has a purpose, and we help it fulfill that mission. Every handcrafted item shows our devotion to artistry. My journey didn’t start in a workshop. It began with a lifelong goal: understanding needs and creating solutions. This path has changed from the digital world to working with fine wood and steel.

My career as an Application Developer @ IBM, from which I retired in 2012, taught me valuable lessons beyond code. It was about diving deep into a person’s or company’s unique challenges. I focused on truly understanding their way of working. Then, I carefully crafted solutions to make their work easier and more enjoyable. This same philosophy now guides Gorman Blade Works.

Upon retirement, I embraced a vibrant new chapter. My lifelong passion for crafts and design truly grew. I explored many areas. These included woodwork, wood turning, jewelry making, and leather craft. I also delved into 3D design, 3D printing, and laser cutting and engraving. Each new craft helped me better understand materials and form. Making ideas real brought deep satisfaction.

Sharing this joy came naturally. I began teaching these very subjects. It felt very rewarding to guide others through this exciting creative process. My goal was to help people achieve their own vision and create beautiful things.
